Also during this month Keiji Inafune the man behind Mega Man's creation has announced a game known as Mighty No.9 which is a spiritual successor to Mega Man. Hearing this news I was very excited to know more about it. Keiji made a Kickstarter to help get this game off the ground. After seeing the rewards I wanted to be a Backer for this game so badly. However cause of the lack of funds during this month, I wasn't able to help be a Backer. Luckily only after just 2 days the goal was met and I was very excited to see this happen. Because now the game will get made and I will gladly pick up a copy of the this game when it comes out. |
Okay sorry everyone for the lack of updates on here but like I say in past posts. Most of my updates I make are on Facebook. However I've started to get pissed at how much Facebook is changing for the worst. They're changing the way Fan Pages work, they use some kind of filter system that makes it harder for fans of my page to see my updates. Even if they liked the page and receive notifications only like 10% of my fans will see my updates. I've read that they might lower the percentage from 10% to 7%, maybe even 3% unless I start paying to boost my updates. That I think is stupid cause it makes it harder for people like me who aren't even well known to get fans. I've paid before to get new likes and that I felt worked but I feel uncomfortable about doing it. Because it makes me feel like I'm forcing people to like my page. I would rather have people find out about my Facebook page through word of mouth. Then I've paid to boost one of my updates to see how that works. I didn't like the results, I got 7,000 people to view my post but only 13 people interacted with my post and I got 1 new like. I mean come on that's it? 13 people, I would have liked it if at least 1,000 people interacted with my post. I would have been happy if I got 100 new likes but I didn't. So I think paying to boost my updates to get more people to see my post is stupid and I will never do it again. I'm going to stick with promoting my page through posting often, sharing posts, talking about my page at panels and conventions. Okay so now I want to share some highlights from each of the 8 months since my last post up until now. So I will try to make things brief so that my post doesn't get too boring. All right here I go! In September I finally got to see the new Dragon Ball movie. Dragon Ball: Battle of Gods, every DBZ fan was so excited to see it like I was. I watched it RAW and then SUB. I studied up on the movie and made notes then I put the info into my Dragon Ball panel so I could talk about it at the next con that I will bring my panel to. Overall I gotta say the movie was really good. So around October I hadn't drawn anything new, cause I lost my tablet pen. Luckily one of my friends hooked me up with a brand new tablet and pen for a good price. I'm still using it till now. Also I posted a new Handsome Face and decided that from now on I will post horror themed Handsome Face characters during the month of October. I did this to make up for not posting any new pics during Handsome May. This can be a new way to post new pics twice year instead of once year. I got a list of characters I planning on drawing so be sure to come back in October to see them. Also I hope you guys are looking forward to next month cause I should have some new Handsome Face characters to post for Handsome May. There's nothing too important in November talk about. The only thing I can say is that this month was the month when I posted my Legend of Zelda drawing. It was my first Legend of Zelda drawing that I ever done. It got some laughs cause it was a parody of Kentucky Fried Chicken. I originally wanted to post it when the Wind Waker HD game came out but luckily The Legend of Zelda: Link Between Worlds came out around this time. So it still was a good time to post it. Okay so in December the only thing worth mentioning is when I found out about Facebook's filtration system. I was pretty pissed when hearing about this and seeing how its affecting my page. I'm not a person that's well known and I'm trying to make my FB page grow but I feel that with these restrictions. That FB is holding me back and I can't move forward. I'm trying so many ways to get around this and I feel that spreading the word on my page is working when I talk about it at conventions. So if you are already a fan or someone new to the page. Please if you like what I do, then add my page to your interest list and share my page & updates often. That would help me out so much. In January, Redbubble added the option to make case covers for Samsung Galaxy phones, Iphones, and Ipads. I jumped in and converted most of my work into cases. So people could have that option of decorating their devices. Also in this month I finished a new drawing that I've been working on for months. That drawing was my "Kamen Rider OOOOOOHH!!". When I posted it, it blow up on the internet. I didn't think that there would be so many people that were fans of both Regular Show and Kamen Rider OOO. It made me happy that lots of people liked it, I have a second piece that I'm working on but its going to be awhile until its finished. So be sure to check back some time later after I finish it. February was a busy month, I was working on finishing up my new updates for the Dragon Ball panel that I was doing for Megacon. I did a new shirt design that was easy, simple, and cool. Which I called "Fresh Prince In The Streets". Also in this month I did something new, I made a Tumblr account. For my account I made a new mascot that will represent my page. Its an old character that I brought back the character's name is Jeff Kurosaki. I plan on doing some funny web comics starring Jeff in the future. If you have a Tumblr account and like what I do then be sure to follow me on Tumblr at The True Jeff Kurosaki . It pisses me off that someone else made an account using the name Jeff Kurosaki but what are you going to do about right, this kind of stuff happens all the time. Well its March and that means its Megacon month. I have to say that this year's Megacon was better than last year but it wasn't a great con experience for me. So I skipped out going on Friday to save money on gas and put the final touches on the Dragon Ball panel. However around 9pm or 10pm, my computer froze up and crashed on me. Which sucked cause I haven't saved my project for hours and I lost all of my work. So Saturday was probably the hardest day for me, traffic getting to the con was the worst I've ever seen it in years. When I got to the con, I was surprised at how crowded the con was. I thought since it was at a new location which I knew was more spacious that everything would be fine. It wasn't, I thought I wouldn't get my badge and make it to my own panel on time. Luckily I did and apparently the panel before mine didn't show up, giving me more time to work on the panel. The Dragon Ball panel went off without a hitch, well except for my co-host not showing up. Which was okay cause he got to meet Stan Lee, which is awesome. I still need to meet him. So anyways I did the panel by myself and man was it packed. What I liked best was that I had a full house and lots of prizes to give away at the raffle. I really hope that I see my panels have big turn outs like I did at Megacon. So for the rest of the day I try to find my friends which was hard. The con was just TOO CROWDED!! I even cosplayed as Jeff Kurosaki for the first time, I really wish I got some pics. However at the end of the day, I was tired and ready to go home. However I couldn't because my car broke down on me and I had to sleep in the car cause I didn't have a room to stay at. So the next day I stayed to check out the con and see what I miss and yet I still missed so much. I didn't get to meet any of guests I wanted to meet. I didn't get to buy a lot of the things I wanted. I still didn't get to see all of my friends. So when the day ended I had a friend help jump start my car but it seem that didn't work. I had to leave the car behind and pick it up the next day. So from what I learned this weekend was to not to repeat the mistakes I made during the con. I will plan better for next year's Megacon. So this month I want and saw Captain America: The Winter Solider, which was a FANTASTIC movie. I finished my latest Dragon Ball drawing, the "Reservoir Saiyans" which I liked how it turned out. Lots of people liked it as well. Another thing that I saw was the new season of Game of Thrones, which I was excited to see. When watching the first episode of the new season, I watched it while wearing my "Saiyans Are Coming" t-shirt. So around the same time I was advertising my shirt when Game of Thrones was back on. One of my good friends brought to my attention something very important. Apparently someone on Etsy known as CarrotShop was selling my Saiyans Are Coming as if it was there own design. They thought that they could just flip the colors and know would notice. So I made it my mission to share this news on all of my social networks. Me and my friends sent several messages to the shop owner and Etsy to have the shirt taken down. I'm very happy to say that the shirt was taken down. Can I get a Fuck Yeah? Though my shirt was taken down from the shop, I wonder if the other shirts in the shop belong to other owners and are not CarrotShop's original designs. If I knew the original designers I would spread the news to them but said I don't. So I just want to say that if any of you guys know the original designers of the designs that CarrotShop is selling. Then be sure to let them know. So one last thing I wanted to share, it looks like I will be bring my Dragon Ball back to Knightrokon this year. Plus I've submitted a new panel that I will be doing at the con. My panel will be about SEGA, its sort of a retrospect about the system and what they are doing now. So if you are going to this year's Knightrokon than be sure to come check out my panels. Sorry that this post is so long, I had a lot of things to talk about. So be sure to check back again for my next update, cause I think I might change up the look of the website. Well I hope you guys didn't think this post was too boring but instead help you guys know what's been going on with me. Well until next time.

Hello everyone! Well its that time again to celebrate. It's the Studio of Eden 4th Year Anniversary. Last year I wasn't able to make a post about the 3 year cause of computer problems. So this year I wanted to make sure to make a post about the things that has happen over the past year. Okay so far 2013 has had its up and downs. I try to stay focus and positive, I always try to look towards the bigger picture. I'm always working on spreading the word of this website, the Facebook page, and my shop at Redbubble.
So I've talked about We Like It Nerdy before, but I've never talked about how I was a guest on one of their podcast episodes. If you don't believe me then here's the link "We Like It Nerdy Podcasts" and check out Episode 20. I show up in the second half of the episode. Listen to the whole episode because its really hilarious but so are all of their episodes. lol Also they added a new page called "Nerd Vault" which showcase different products and artworks from follow nerds. I was asked if they can add links to some of my products and I said yes. I think cause of this I sell at least one product once week. Which is great for me, so thanks W.L.I.N. for showcasing my products.
Speaking of AFO, I had a great time there. Friday was rough getting use to the new location took some time and learning how to use the equipment for the panel was difficult at first. After that it was smooth sailing. I did the Dragon Ball panel like I always wanted to. I made it longer to talk about everything that was new and had a raffle to give away some of my drawings & t-shirts. I figured this would help me get more people like my Facebook page. Though I wish I was able to bring more shirts. People seem to like them. I also did two new panels after the Dragon Ball panel. The other panel I did was Sengoku Basara panel, I did it to help spread the word on the fan dub I'm a part of called Sengoku Nigra. You can check out the Facebook page here, just click on the link "Sengoku Nigra: Console Kings" My last panel I did was a Super Sentai, because I always wanted to. So overall I had a lot of fun and lots of laughs. I really hope AFO stays at their new location, a lot of people seem to hate the new location. I on the other hand loved it cause it was so much bigger than the old location and I like how the con & hotel are located inside. You never really need to go outside, unless its for pictures, eating out, and going to the pool. I look forward to going back next year if it stays in its new location, I had a blast! I just wish I had an extra day at the con cause the weekend flew by way too fast. So overall this has been a good year for me. I've been spreading the word of my business, my Facebook page, and this website. I will continue spreading the word of The Studio of Eden and building a bigger audience. I'm always planning ahead and moving forward. I'm always gathering new ideas for new drawings. I plan on working really hard to get those out and getting back to work on my mangas. I haven't been writing in awhile, so I really want to get back into that. So thank you all for your support! I look forward to what the next year will bring. Until till then keep following all of my updates, sharing my page/site with other people and buying more of my products. As a treat I thought I would leave you with something awesome to listen. So you could enjoy this awesome anniversary like I did. Have a slamtastic day everyone! Well hello, hello everyone! Yeah I know its been awhile since I updated the site but no one can't say that I haven't been updating at all. I've been busy making my posts on The Studio of Eden Facebook page. Lots of things has been going on and now I'm going to tell it all. For anyone that's being out of the loop for the past month. Okay first off Weebly, has changed the layout of creating the site which I think looks great. It still can do all the same things it can before, plus more. But man the new set up is great to use and much easier. Though I'm still using the Free version I can't imagine what the Pro version is like. I've gone ahead and change things up and a couple of pages. "Sirius Lee Awesome Teez" has moved. I'm no longer using CafePress to sell my t-shirts. I'm using Redbubble to sell my shirts now and I'm still transferring all my products over to this site. At Redbubble I have to re-size my images to fit the size they require. You can check out the online shop by clicking on the "Awesome Shop" link in the menu. I like here so much better, I've made more sales here than I ever did on Cafepress. It feels great know people are looking at my products, liking it, and buying it. So besides adding my old stuff, I will be adding some new stuff this week. So be sure to check back often. Okay so "Handsome May" has come and gone. I've made several new drawings of Handsome characters. Which have been pretty popular online. The last piece I did is of the Colossal Titan from Shingeki no Kyojin aka Attack on Titan. It's a really good show that I'm watching and so is a lot of people. Fans of the series and even those that hate the show still all liked this picture. Because of how many people liked this picture, it gave me the idea of doing more Handsome Face drawings again later this year. I'm planning on drawing Handsome Face characters of monsters for the month of October. I already have ideas of which monsters I want to do.
So I just came back from Knightrokon this pass weekend. I went cause I've never gone and was interested in seeing what it was like. Plus I did my Dragon Ball panel there, which was good cause it was the new updated version I had made. If you went to my panel at Knightrokon thanks again for coming and I hope you enjoyed it. So while at the con I help spread the word of the Studio of Eden, Zanza Studios, and Banzai Pecan. Now I don't believe I've ever talked about Zanza Studios before cause there wasn't a site to check out its contents. However now Zanza Studios has grown and has lots of stuff checking out. This group I'm part of I post my art there as well and I do fan dubs with my fellow Zanza members. As a group we all try to do panels at cons talking about subjects we like and spreading the word of the site. And I think Knightrokon was a great first step towards doing this. As a group we had six panels at the con. I think they were all fantastic!
Well I hope everyone had a good weekend I know I did. So be sure to follow me as well on Facebook if you haven't all ready. Again check out my new shop at Redbubble. Be sure to check back often I have plans for lots of new stuff. New shirts, new drawings, and new cons to check out. Until next time!
Well great news everyone I've added more products to my shop. It still isn't much compared to other stores but its enough for me. I've add a little bit of everything which I think people should like. I got some Mass Effect, Kamen Rider, Super Sentai and Dragon Ball Z products. Pretty much stuff that I like but I've even made a few things for women. Though its hard for me to know if women will like it or not. So I put it up as a "just in case" scenario. I have lots of ideas for future products but I feel with the prices I'm charging it might be too much for some people.
You see I've gone to other sites where people sell shirts that relate to geeks, gamers, sci-fi fans, and just about anything that isn't for normal people. I like the prices they charge and feel that I will lose people to them cause they are cheaper. Which is why I try to create stuff that they might not even carry. Now if I could lower the prices I would but that's the default prices the Cafepress marks their products with. Which I guess isn't all bad but I feel like that if I start to get more female customers they won't like it that the women's shirts cost more than the men's shirts. But what can I do that's what the prices are, if I could sell my products in person. Which is something I would like to do in the future, I would make the prices fair for everyone. So go everyone and check out the new products I've posted. Be sure to share my store with anyone you think will like the stuff I sell. http://www.cafepress.com/siriusleeawesometeez Well I finally did everyone I've opened up my very own online store to sell my artwork and original designs on all sorts of products. However for just right now I'm selling just t-shirts. I've been wanting to do this for a long time now but I wanted to do this when I at least had more stuff done. As I said before my computer crashed on me awhile back and I've been looking to see what survived. I got some stuff saved but really wish I had be able to save more. So finding what I could I decided to just go ahead and make my store. What made me do this sooner is that I'm getting my laptop fixed but I know I won't have enough money to pay for it after its gotten fixed. So I decided to get my online store off the ground with the help of CafePress.com. I've been a customer with them for a long time now and I've made a couple of test shirts for myself to see how they turned out. A lot of the shirts came out great and people liked them and kept asking me where I got it from. So now the time has finally come and my online store is ready for business. I've even added a new page link on the left side bar, right under Cosplay Gallery go to "Sirius Lee Awesome Teez" that's the name of the store. There's not much for now but still check it out. I've got 5 shirts, 3 for men and 2 for women. I hope everyone likes the store, now if you will excuse me I need to get back to learning more HTML coding. So that I can improve the online store some more. |
